Wow it has been 5 years since our first show! We are excited to invite you to our 5th Annual Antique & Classic Wooden Boat Show. The event will take place on Saturday, July 9th this year at Clearwater Harbor. The in-water show will begin at 11:00am followed again by a parade through the Chain O’ Lakes. Along with wooden boats, we welcome any type of antique or classic boat at least 35 years old.
We are inviting all participants and their guest(s) to join us at Clearwater Harbor Friday night the 8th beginning at 6:00pm for an informal get together. This is a great time to renew acquaintances and meet fellow participants. We’ve had a great time in previous years! Depending on the number, the Harbor Bar will make an area available for us for those who wish to dine.
On Saturday, plan to arrive by 10:00 am or earlier to allow us time for the docking of boats. We will again have volunteers available to assist with landing and docking of your boat. We appreciate anyone who wishes to arrive early and help. Please bring along rope, boat bumpers and an anchor. Once we have all the boats moored, spectators will be allowed on the docks to view the boats.
We will have placards posted on the dock near each boat with your information on it. Again this year we will have awards for the following categories: “People’s Choice”, “Best Inboard”, “Best Outboard”, Best Non-Motorized”, and “Captain’s Pick”. Voting will be done by participants and spectators. We will have a 5th annual nice quality T-shirt, a sleeveless T-Shirt or a tank top available for purchase. Anyone wanting a sweatshirt may order it and we will have it available on Friday night or Saturday at the show. Clothing is sold to participants at our cost. If you are interested in clothing please include the number, type and size on the entry form so we can order them ahead of time and have them available.
Please complete the attached entry form and return it to Barry Tomaras, 323 Tioga Street, Waupaca, WI 54981 or email it to btomaras@charter.net. Entry forms should be returned as soon as possible to assure your spot in the show as space may be limited. More information will follow for participants.
The cost of entry is $15 again this year. Everything is done with volunteer help. The Chain ‘O Lakes Association is providing financial assistance with advertising our show. The entry fees are used to help defray the costs of putting on the show and also to pay for the awards. Any proceeds left will go to the Chain ‘O Lakes Foundation, a non-profit foundation to protect our beautiful lakes.
